DOO WOP MUSIC HALL OF FAME

OFFICIAL GLOBAL DOO WOP COALITION INTERVIEWS

WITH MIKE MIKE MILLER ON THE HARMONY STREET SHOW ™

Mike Millers Biography

Michael was a Dean in a very tough Bronx Junior High School for 30 years. He graduated from LIU and has 2 Masters Degrees, one being in Educational Psychology.

He started in the Bronx, moved to Armonk, NY, for Junior High School and attended Pleasantville High and the graduated from Herricks High School on Long Island.

Michael started playing guitar in Westchester County at the age of 13 and was quite proficient by age 15. He studied guitar with George Thorne and Billy Bauer both in the Encyclopedia of Jazz. In his second year of High School his family moved to Manhassett Long Island where he had a trio called The Motions. This evolved into several top forty cover bands which eventually played all over Long Island during the sixties and the seventies in so many famous Long Island Clubs. One of the groups was called "Michael" and another popular Long Island group was Grand Boulevard.

Of course Michael learned his harmony on the street corner as he had the pleasure of singing with The Islanders a Doo Wop a cappella group who recorded on Relic Records. The group opened up for many of the major acts on Long Island, such as Johnny Maestro and The Crests at Clay Coles World for example. After that the group signed with Gino Moretti on a subsidiary of MGM records and had a minor chart hit with" Where The Lights are Bright," the flipside, “Baby Pack On” written by Bellnote, Ray Ceroni, is a Northern Soul hit worth hundreds.

In the seventies Michael co produced a disco album called Dance City with Steve Adorno now of Seguida. The lead tune Dance City was played in Disco's all over the country and became a solid dance hit in Discos such as Studio 54 in NY and Fire and Ice in New Jersey. It was recorded at Media Sound in NY with the help of recording engineer Phil Shrago.

Michael went on to sing with and fill in for several popular Doo Wop groups such as Dave Ricks' version of Vito and The Salutations, and George Galfo's Mystics.

Michael’s group Harmony Street a wonderful group consisting of Mike Miller, Ellen Pacelli, Dee Hearvrin, Robin Miller, Scott Poarch, and Larry Giacobbe was one of the leading new Doo Wop groups of the Modern Era. They appeared on so many popular compelation CD's as well as many of their own. Their latest CD is on Collectables Records called "Harmony Street Doo Wop and More". Harmony Street appeared at the White House several times, the most memorable being the Christmas Party in '98 for the Clintons with 800 guests. They sang the Anthem in many major venues including Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium and were the entertainment for Tom Ridge at the Waldorf Astoria when he was sworn in as the first Homeland Security Director as Charles Schweiker took his place as Governor of Pennsylvania.

Michael has written jingles for as many of 50 oldie radio stations and several for Don K Reed from the Doo Wop Shop on CBS FM as well as for Ken Held on the Doo Wop Shop in Florida and Johnny B in Waterbury, Ct.

Michaels time that he spent with George Galfo's Mystics of Hushabye fame was very rewarding. “Hushabye Again” which he wrote for them can be heard on Collectables Records. Michaels tunes Christine and the ballad Harmony Street (which can be heard in several movies) and doo wop CD’s. Mike has an ongoing CD series called Doo Wop Stylings which he records in his pro tools studio.

Harmony Street was the first group ever to walk on a stage for Rob and Laura Albanese of LAR ENTERPRISES many years ago in their first big oldie venture. Mike has rekindled his relationship with LAR, as a performer, MC and part of a back up group which he arranges and sings with to back up lead singers who fly in to Florida for big shows.

Mike also does a 90 minute show in South Florida called Doo Wop Stylings with Mike Miller and Ken Brady. Ken being the lead singer of The Casino’s

Just recently Mike has cemented a very close friendship and is very involved with the career of John Lloyd Young, the Tony winner and star of the Broadway and screen production of The Jersey Boys.

The Harmony Street Show with Mike Miller ™ is a worldwide radio show that Mike has which is syndicated on several top feeds throughout the country, in which he conducts very in depth interviews the top names in our Genre.

Mike is married to former Miss Maryland Paulette, who after winning The Miss Maryland title went on to the Miss USA contest and then was runner up in the Miss World Contest. Paulette toured with Bob Hope, had a TV and movie career and is now a very successful Real Estate Broker in South Florida and with their 5 daughters, they were just presented with a new grandson.
